This alphabet tracing board has 2 sides to it - one side with lowercase letters and the other with uppercase letters.
The Montessori method promotes learning letters by their sounds "aah" (A), "buh" (B), "cuh" (C) rather than names, in order to help them form and read words better. It also introduces lowercase letters first given the prevalence of lowercase letters in everyday reading materials. Each time our little ones read books, they're more likely to see lowercase letters than uppercase ones.
The curved grooves let kids trace safely with their fingers or the tracing stick. This comes with 50 coloured pompoms as well - you can choose from monochrome, bubblegum and winter. Arranging the pompoms takes a lot of concentration and also helps refine fine motor skills to train up those finger muscles essential for writing! Other than using the pompoms, your little ones can also fill the board with coloured rice, dry beans or stones/pebbles.
Tracing helps build muscle memory as they learn to write independently. Associating these numbers with physical quantities of items are also very important to help them understand the meaning behind these numbers.
